Unicorn Riot, an educational non-profit media org reporting on grassroots social movements and producing independent alternative media, is expanding our administrative team. We’re looking for a mission-driven and dedicated individual with experience working with fundraisers. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, a self-starter and a positive communicator. Familiarity with managing and running fundraisers, communicating with donors, working with CRMs, and researching and writing grants is preferred. This coordinator role is responsible for implementing UR’s fund development plans. Coordinator manages fundraisers, merch store, donor database and communicates with donors. The Fund developer also seeks grant opportunities and writes grants and/or works with grantwriters and other contractors where needed. If that’s you, please apply! Tasks include: Managing fundraisers Managing merch store Communicating with donors Keeping donor database up to date Writing grants or working with grantwriters Cultivating funders Requirements: Be well-organized and dedicated to managing and completing tasks. Have the ability to take initiative and a self-starter. Exercises positive communication skills, can critically think and speak with clarity and respect. Three to five years of experience in fundraising. Strong fundraising track record. Experience working in grants research, writing and management. Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. No criminal charges or civil action related to financial mismanagement - subject to a background check. Proficient in Excel, fundraising CRM’s. Experience with giving platforms and donor advised funds. Ability to navigate a non-hierarchical environment and work with a variety of communication and work styles. Preferred: Experience working with media orgs and specific grants (gen ops, documentary, etc). Experience working with nonprofits. Previous experience working with donor relations, sales, special events, and/or planned giving with a nonprofit. COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position ranges from $26-$40/hr depending on experience.
