Regional Director, Emergency Management - Remote based in Dallas, TX
Job Description
Tenet is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Director, Emergency Management. Reporting to the Enterprise Director, Business Continuity & Emergency Management, the position will oversee the emergency management program of Tenet, USPI, TPR, and Conifer in the assigned region. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring and implementing the emergency management program for the safety and protection of people and property. They provide directions during disaster or emergency situations, interacting with hospitals, healthcare facilities and various support partners. They will manage all preparedness activities, facility training, event management and reporting, and after-action development within their region. The role will be based in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
- Proactively leads in times of crisis, manages & coordinates efforts, communication and activities to ensure safety of patients, employees, and visitors.
- Directs the management, planning, and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards to support the Enterprise Emergency Management program.
- Consults with officials of local area hospitals, ASCs, governments, and other institutions in order to determine their needs and capabilities in the event of a natural disaster or other emergency.
- Identify programs, work processes, procedures, and activities to enhance agency readiness for incidents, emergencies, and disasters.
- Assess and facilitate emergency preparedness plan upgrades to include disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
- Develops and facilitates emergency preparedness training and exercise initiatives and programs.
- Ensures the response equipment is in good repair and determines their operational and functional capabilities in emergency situations.
- Provide emergency response KPI performance modeling and analysis.
- Develop and maintain resources to assist in mitigation efforts for top vulnerabilities from an all-hazards disaster perspective.
- Key contributor to the build out of critical systems, such as AlertMedia, ManagePath, EarlyAlert, Smartsheets, SharePoint, TenetOne/ServiceNow and AccuWeather.
- Facilitates governing committees, advisory councils, and focus groups on key emergency management issues and gaps.
- Leads severe weather monitoring and response, as well as Tenet Command Center activations, while hosting coordination calls with senior corporate and field leadership.
- Participate in audits related to business continuity and emergency preparedness and response.
- Communicate with local site leadership, regional VP and market President on FM regulatory compliance and required maintenance activities.
- Ensure that issues and risks are properly escalated and resolved.
- Monitor the performance of contractors and services for effectiveness and compliance.
- Supervise the preparation, development and management of the regional program budget and annual capital submissions.
- Develop and maintain reporting systems and repositories to enhance divisional efficiency.
- Prepare and present oral and written recommendations and solutions to senior leadership.
- Engage with stakeholders in the data gathering and due diligence efforts (corporate and market).
- Lead Emergency management assessments physical, financial, and strategic to support leadership decisions.
- Support the corporate real estate and facility management programs.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in emergency management, safety, law enforcement, fire science, EMS, or related discipline. Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum seven (7) years' experience in hospital/healthcare emergency management.
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) preferred.
- Preferred applicants have managed/led Emergency and Disaster Preparedness programs in a large, corporate, healthcare system with multiple facilities.
- Must be able to travel regionally up to 20%. Selected candidate will be required to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), or similar certifications preferred.
- Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to lead organizational efforts in times of crisis.
- Trained in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS). Minimum of 100, 200, 700 & 800 course completion required.
- Understanding of survey process and standards for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and The Joint Commission (TJC), and Center for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS) as it relates to emergency management, environment of care and life safety. Additional qualifications include
