Position Summary: The Payment Posting Specialist I performs basic payment posting processes under general supervision. Position Key Accountabilities: • Accurately posts all assigned manual and electronic payments to patient accounts. • Resolves any edits and reports issues in a timely and accurate manner. • Works zero-dollar Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) as assigned. • Reconciles payments on a daily basis prior to the end of each shift. • Performs other duties as assigned. Certification/Skills: Knowledge and understanding of insurance benefits and medical terminology is a plus. Must be comfortable interacting with others in an office environment. Must have strong critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently without close supervision. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; excellent phone and computer skills. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Minimum Experience: None. Previous experience with revenue cycle preferred. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement. Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
