Senior IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics Engineer Locations are: Tier 2– Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nevada, North Carolina, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Idaho, Wyoming, South Carolina, Virgina, Tier 3 – Utah, Ohio, Arizona, Nebraska, Missouri, Louisiana, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alabama, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Vermont, West Virginia Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following. Other duties may be assigned. • Collaborate with development teams and operation engineering teams to establish a full development lifecycle • Collaborate with business users, development teams, and operation engineering teams to tackle business requirements and deliver against high operational standards of system availability and reliability • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers • Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns and suggesting fixes • Architect financial solutions with a mindset of using all technologies that are at your disposal • Build and enhance software to extend system, application, or tool functionality to improve business processes and meet end user needs while working within the overall system architecture • Diagnose and resolve operational issues, perform detailed root cause analysis, respond to suggestions for enhancements, and create detailed recommendations for solutions to problems that impact code owned by another group • Identify process improvement opportunities to drive innovation • May work with users or Business Analysts to determine requirements and design for systems • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company • Ensure the accuracy of the deliverables through quality assurance practice • Create and/or update technical and user documentation of systems Education And/or Experience • Bachelor’s Degree • 7+ years of relevant IBM Cognos TM1/Planning Analytics experience including system configuration, data modeling, model building, and developing reports or dashboards with TM1 • TM1 technical skills: Dimension & cube development, Rules and TurboIntegrator coding, security setup, report development, and ongoing maintenance of existing models. Experience using source code control with TM1 • Some experience with IBM Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) is preferred • TM1 soft skills: gathering requirements for new projects & provide analysis of existing functionality where needed. • Experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server • Corporate finance experience exhibiting knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting functions and processes • Possess excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment • Execute excellent customer service relationship skills • Ability to apply technical skills in order to implement high-quality solutions for system enhancements or problem corrections • Ability to apply logical methods to solve difficult problems and generate effective solutions through accurate and appropriate analysis • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form • Advanced MX Excel skills • Proficiency with MS Office and email • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
