Overnight Residential Counselor - Part Time

About the position Evolve Treatment Centers is seeking a dedicated and reliable Overnight Residential Counselor to join our team in La Mesa, CA. This part-time position is crucial for ensuring the safety and supervision of our clients at one of our 6-bed residential treatment centers. The Overnight Residential Counselor will be responsible for staying awake throughout the night shift, which runs from 10 PM to 6 AM, to provide a secure environment for adolescents aged 12 to 17 who are struggling with mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues. In this role, you will be actively engaged in monitoring the clients, ensuring they are in bed and providing line of sight at all times. You will conduct regular checks every 15 minutes and perform maintenance checks throughout the facility. Additionally, you will assist with inventory checks and maintain the cleanliness of the treatment center. Documentation of all shift activities in KIPU is also a key responsibility. Responsibilities • Be awake, alert, and active for the entire duration of the night shift (10pm-6am) , • Ensure clients are in bed all night and provide line of sight of clients at all times , • Check on the clients every 15 minutes , • Walk through the facility and do a maintenance check , • Assist with inventory check and notify the facility manager of anything that needs attention , • Document all shift activity in KIPU , • Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility , • Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings Requirements • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor's degree preferred , • Must be able to stay awake all night; previous overnight shift experience preferred , • Must be at least 21 years old , • Must have at least 6-9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse , • Have 6-9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting , • All schedules require at least 1 weekend shift , • Must be able to pass a LiveScan background check and clear federal and state criminal background checks, and child abuse indexes , • Possess a valid California driver's license , • Must be willing to interact with COVID-positive clients, as needed Nice-to-haves • Previous work or volunteer experience with teens or working in a group home (teens or adults) Benefits • Professional Training - We invest in professional growth, offering quarterly continued education, ongoing training, and professional development courses for all employees. , • Free Meals - Employees working at our Residential Treatment Centers are offered free meals provided by our in-house chef. , • Remote Work/Flexible Schedules - Eligible positions only* We understand the value of providing our eligible employees with the option for remote work and flexible schedules.
