About the position As a Front Line Manufacturing Manager at Amgen, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the downstream manufacturing operations within a state-of-the-art drug substance manufacturing facility. This position involves managing a team of manufacturing associates, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for leading production activities, mentoring staff, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes and achieve operational goals. Responsibilities • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with cGMP and CFR regulations. , • Supervise and engage staff, building relationships of trust and respect while driving team performance. , • Select, train, evaluate, and develop staff members, implementing training plans to ensure compliance. , • Ensure adherence to production schedules and maintenance activities. , • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete production activities and resolve operational issues. , • Oversee the setup, execution, and completion of critical manufacturing processes. , • Interact with management to plan and maintain departmental budgets and goals. Requirements • High school diploma/GED with 12 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience, or an Associate's degree with 10 years, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years, or a Master's degree with 3 years, or a Doctorate degree. , • Experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, or programs. Nice-to-haves • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering. , • Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical plant startup. , • Basic understanding of downstream purification operations (Chromatography, TFF, Viral Filtration). , • 5+ years of knowledge and process experience within a cGMP manufacturing facility. , • 3+ years of experience in a production area Lead, Specialist, or Manager role. , • Strong leadership and team-building skills. , • Experience with performance management and conflict resolution.
