Classroom Teacher Purpose of the position To teach students, manage and maintain the classroom, and monitor assigned students. Strategic Goal Area I –Student Achievement • Plan with deep knowledge of content and delivery • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum • Plan interdisciplinary units with real-world connections • Use the curriculum to plan instruction and assessment • Use an organizing framework to plan instruction • Plan assessment to measure mastery of the curriculum • Demonstrate research-based strategies • Engage higher-order thinking skills • Utilize appropriate differentiation • Utilize flexible grouping practices • Utilize accessible technology • Demonstrate high expectation • Communicate learning expectations • Provide effective feedback • Utilize diagnostic assessment strategies • Utilize formative assessment strategies • Utilize summative assessment strategies • Utilizes data to design interventions • Promote academic progress across all content areas—GPS and Non-GPS Strategic Goal Area II – Stakeholder Engagement and Loyalty • Foster a sense of community and belonging • Establish relationships with families and community • Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, parents and public • Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with students, peers, administration, parents and public • Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline and attendance Strategic Goal Area III – Efficient and Effective Operational Processes • Maintain a positive learning environment • Maximize instructional time • Help students take responsibility for behavior and learning Strategic Goal Area IV – Continuous System and School Improvement • Grow professionally through job-embedded learning • Enhance knowledge and skills through professional learning • Work collaboratively with peers, administration and parents to ensure student success • Actively supports the school improvement plan • Any additional duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the system or individual school Other Expectations • Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia • Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance /timeliness • Complete assignments and requirements on time and in compliance with directions • Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly • Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff JOB STANDARDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions): Valid Georgia professional certification in the assigned teaching field JOB LOCATION (Place(s) where work is performed): Local school site EQUIPMENT (Machines, Devices, Tools, Etc., Used In Job Performance) Current Technology CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE (Needed For This Job Specifically) • Subject area knowledge • Communication skills Name Of Evaluation Instrument Used For This Job Description Teacher Keys Effectiveness System FLSA: Exempt 05/03/2023 Apply Job!
