Data Architect - Hybrid ( and GC)

Job Title: Data Architect (Contract) Job #: 1410 Client: Florida Department of Health, Office of Information Technology Location: Tallahassee, FL Job Summary: The Florida Department of Health is seeking a highly experienced Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and support of an Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (EDAP). This role requires expertise in data modeling, cloud-based data warehousing, data lakehouse architecture, and data governance to modernize and optimize the department's data ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Snowflake, AWS, Informatica, data security, and analytics tools. Key Responsibilities: ? Architect and implement data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses using Snowflake, AWS S3, and Databricks. ? Design and optimize data models, pipelines, and integrations for structured and unstructured data. ? Lead data governance efforts, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance (HIPAA, RBAC/ABAC). ? Develop and manage data exchange hubs and APIs for internal and external data sharing. ? Collaborate with IT teams to design cloud infrastructure and security frameworks. ? Support business intelligence (BI) and machine learning (ML) initiatives using tools like Power BI, Tableau, and AWS SageMaker. ? Guide the adoption of best practices in DataOps, DevOps, and cloud-based data management. Required Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field. ? 5+ years of experience in data architecture and modeling, including ERD, conceptual, logical, and physical models. ? 6+ years of experience with data warehousing (Snowflake), data pipelines (Informatica, AWS Glue), and SQL programming. ? 3+ years of experience with cloud-based data lakes and analytics (AWS S3, Databricks, Apache tools). ? Expertise in data governance, security, privacy, and compliance (HIPAA, encryption, RBAC/ABAC). ? Experience in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, SAS Viya).
