About the position The Director of the Department of Defense at Verizon is responsible for leading all DoD contracts, programs, and customer relationships. This role involves overseeing multiple Associate Directors and their teams, fostering an inclusive and positive work environment, and conducting performance reviews to support team development. The Director will also develop business strategies, manage execution, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders while ensuring adherence to governance and security standards. Responsibilities ? Act as the primary leader supporting all DoD contracts, programs, and customers. , ? Serve as the key named Program Manager for a complex high-speed network contract. , ? Oversee several Associate Directors and their teams, fostering an environment of inclusion and positivity. , ? Conduct performance reviews to assess team progress and provide coaching and mentoring. , ? Develop business strategies for achieving company or program goals and objectives. , ? Assist teams with execution of strategies and objectives. , ? Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. , ? Prepare forecasts and schedules for new awards. , ? Monitor and reduce expenses where possible. , ? Evaluate processes and procedures to solve issues and bottlenecks. , ? Validate adherence to Governance and Security standards. Requirements ? 15 years of professional experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Masters preferred). , ? 10 years of Telecom and/or IT Implementation Experience. , ? 5 years of relevant management/supervisory experience. , ? 5 years of relevant experience with Data Center and High-Speed Networking. , ? Significant experience following Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies. , ? Active Top Secret Clearance. Nice-to-haves ? Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. , ? Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 certification. , ? CompTIA A+ or Security+ certification. , ? Military Service experience. Benefits ?
