Job title: Sr Financial Analyst, Reinforcement Materials Global Finance Group - Boston, MA Hybrid in Boston, MA at Cabot Corporation Company: Cabot Corporation Job description: Your Role at CabotCabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Financial Analyst to join the Reinforcement Materials Global Finance team at our Boston, MA headquarters office location.This position is a key member of the Reinforcement Materials global finance team with multiple responsibilities across the segment. The individual will manage the monthly process of reporting on the segment results, analyze and provide insight of the segments general and administrative costs, support the global functional leaders reporting and forecasting of costs, and provide analytical support to the global tire business leaders. Additionally, this position will be a key contributor in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual budget reporting and formulation of the global business story.The role is based in Boston, MA, but is eligible to follow the current Flexible Working Arrangement / Hybrid model (work from home 2 days a week and develop/sustain colleague relationships in the office 3 days a week).How You Will Make an Impact
  • Analyzes management information and reviews business results with finance team. Provide sophisticated financial modeling for business decision making.
  • Analyze and forecast financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. Prepare in-depth evaluations of plans and identify new methods of analysis and presentation.
  • Initiates studies to clarify results and to define opportunities for profit improvement.
  • Manages and follow through the development of budgets and forecasts.
  • Oversees all financial reporting to corporate for accuracy and completeness. Creates and maintains financial statements and special reports reflecting operating results for region.
  • Manages the development of a detailed budget plan for global functional owners.
  • Conduct and document complex financial analysis projects.
  • Responsible for accumulating, analyzing and reporting of forecasted and actual monthly results. Develop a thorough understanding of business drivers and provide insights of trends and progress against targets.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to support regional or global initiatives.
What You Will Bring to Cabot
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting and/or MBA with emphasis in Finance.
  • 5+ years in a financial analyst capacity (i.e. managing spend, business unit reporting, cost analysis, identify margin improvement opportunities, forecasting, etc).
  • Previous experience with data analysis and storytelling, coupled with the ability to clearly and concisely present findings.
  • Strong computer skills including, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, power query and other advanced analytical tools (Hyperion, Essbase, etc)
  • Experience with manufacturing or industrial organization a significant plus
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and their applications.
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing environment and costing applications.
  • Ability to make decisions and take initiative in the absence of perfect information.
  • Ability to respond to issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to respond and adapt to changing work situations and environments.
  • Ability to build trust and gain support of personnel across the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
