About the position

The Health Promotion and Education Liaison (CC 2) position at the Washington State Department of Health is a full-time, hybrid role focused on improving health literacy and behaviors related to children's health. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between DOH and Department of Enterprise Services for communication materials production and distribution.

  • Review and correct proofs provided by printers during production phases and perform quality assurance checks.
  • ,
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance plans and report issues to higher-level staff.
  • ,
  • Update and distribute program emails to parents and caregivers and develop content for social media engagement.
  • ,
  • Review and proofread website content for accuracy and provide feedback for web-friendly content.
  • ,
  • Coordinate and participate in events to share health information with the public.
  • ,
  • Support emergency response activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience consulting in a health services program, or a bachelor's degree in public health, health education, communications/public relations, or an allied field with one or more years of experience in health services consulting.
  • ,
  • One or more years of experience developing and responding to social media content for the public.
  • ,
  • One or more years of experience promoting or communicating children's health information.

Nice-to-haves

  • One or more years of experience maintaining or designing web content for the public.
  • ,
  • Task and/or project management experience including planning, coordinating, scheduling, and executing projects.
  • ,
  • CHES or MCHES certification.
  • ,
  • Fluency in at least one language other than English.
