Analyst, Data and Reporting - Global Development

JOB SUMMARY As a member of the Development Analytics & Reporting, the manager will work closely with the Sr. Director of Analysis and Reporting to support the maintenance of data with the OASIS system related to development opportunities and related information. The Data and Reporting Analyst will contribute to the Global Development support team related activities and reports for deals related to hotel transactions and new hotel openings to streamline the lead-to-sign process. They will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes related to deal signings, including incentive goal setting, tracking and reporting . CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience required in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience demonstrating knowledge and capability in large scale data management, process design, documentation, analysis, and data quality assurance

Preferred

  • Hospitality industry experience.
  • Proficiency in using automated systems and advanced features of MS Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook and other database management programs.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Work closely with Global Development Support organization leaders to ensure effective and efficient deal transaction activities to assure maximum speed and efficiency, while maintaining integrity and due diligence
  • Contribute to the achievement of the Company’s growth objectives by ensuring delivery of timely and impactful business metrics on new unit development.
  • Candidate will manage the competitive industry hotel supply data globally for the Development organization; including vendor relationship management, monthly data submissions, monthly data receipt and maintenance, and will be the point of contact for the global development department for data and analysis requests regarding the company’s competitive position versus the industry in regards to hotel supply
  • Manage and execute routine and ad hoc research on Marriott and industry hotel supply and growth metrics, and assist in assuring accuracy in growth-related content for MI’s public communications (regulatory reporting, public communications and press releases).
  • Assist Global Development team and other departments conducting research to analyzing and interpreting emerging trends in among the industry, key competitors, and for Marriott – particularly in regards to market share and market saturation
  • Creation and maintenance of recurring statistical reporting tools (inventory growth, market planning, regional market optimization tool, distribution analysis)
  • Participate in various research projects including pipeline and property data, Smith Travel Research, Lodging Econometrics data, internet research, etc.
  • Ad hoc data manipulation and analysis of Marriott and lodging industry data using Excel, Salesforce, and occasionally PowerBI
  • Champion the use of technology, providing effective and easy-to-use solutions for hotel market analysis and development research and reporting
  • Maintain expertise in departmental applications; train new and existing users on functionality
  • Support training and change management efforts for Development including the creation of job aids and related documentation, coordination of webinar training and Educating for Transactions (EFT) course for new Developers
  • Supports the tracking and processing of key money payments to Marriott’s owner community in conjunction with Marriott’s Development accounting team
  • Supports the quarterly bonus cycle data analytics and reporting for Marriott’s global sales organization; including tracking, data Q&A, and data management regarding individual sales associates performance against sales goals in coordination with the VP, Development Operations to ensure timely and accurate quarterly bonus payments for the development sales organization.

The salary range for this position is $81,200 to $125,200 annually.
