Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Agora is working towards a new paradigm for group collaboration by creating the tools for communities to work together onchain. This is not yet-another-productivity-saas. We believe that to enable the next era of collaboration, we need software that can bend current and create new incentives. No amount of removing friction will change how we work together if our reward functions are misaligned.

Agora is working tirelessly on the best end-to-end governance platform for crypto protocols – the first instance of at-scale onchain collaboration. Leading communities like Optimism, ENS, Uniswap, and more rely on Agora to coordinate their community around critical protocol upgrades, ecosystem funding, and steward their ecosystem for the future.

But that’s not where we stop. Our goal is to build deep collaboration tools for people who couldn’t care less about crypto so that one day (soon), your friends back home are using Agora without ever knowing we’re on Ethereum.

You will work on building out the next generation of Agora's governance applications focusing on the product, scaling it, and end user experience. You will work closely with our head of engineering, head of design and head of product, to build and own features end to end. This includes working on the front-end, having strong opinions on where the data should live in the backend and giving yourself and the team leverage writing automated tests and good docs.

2025 will be a big year for Agora with dozens of new customers already committed and lots of improvements on the contracts, architecture, data layer and mobile experience. Your days will be filled with challenging and rewarding work that you will be proud of.

• Developers who have worked on at least three production grade stacks and distributed systems with object oriented languages. We heavily rely on Typescript & React & Next.js, and also have data pipelines in python & SQL.

• Understanding of Ethereum’s architecture and familiarity with L2 solutions

• Ability to read Solidity code

• Strong computer science fundamentals, particularly in building scalable and maintainable systems

• A track record of delivering learning while delivering high-quality, maintainable code that facilitates collaboration within a codebase

• You want to start committing code on day one

• Experience working on open-source projects

• Expertise in designing for crypto applications

• Knowledge of the Governance Ecosystem in Crypto (Eg. ERC20Votes)

• Experience working with EVM Indexers

• Demonstrated ability to improve infrastructure through:

  • Building design systems

  • Making it easier for others to contribute effectively

Agora operates as a remote, distributed team with headquarters in San Francisco. We gather quarterly for full-team offsites held in various locations across the country. Although our team is globally distributed, we work during US-friendly hours, specifically in the PST/EST time zones.
