Summary The Nuclear Fuel Engineer will be part of the team responsible for BWR nuclear fuel reload licensing and cycle management in Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF). In this role you will provide innovative licensing and design solutions that ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines. Additionally, this position has direct utility customer-facing opportunities through deliverables, collaboration, and training.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Apply analytical methods, procedures, and techniques to solve problems
  • Execute analysis and design calculations to support operating reactor cores in reload licensing and cycle management
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Implement continual improvement of work processes
  • Maintain and/or exceed baseline project schedule and cost in delivery of nuclear fuel reload engineering deliverables
  • Share information and promote open dialogue, including working effectively in a matrixed team environment
  • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
  • Partner with Commercial Account Managers (CAMs), interface with customer technical personnel, and manage reload projects across the Fuels organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering, physics, or other science field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in nuclear fuel design and analysis, nuclear safety analysis, or closely related field.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The preferred work location is in Wilmington, NC Headquarters but qualified remote candidates will be considered (US based)
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
