We’re looking for a strategic and technically sharp leader to own discoverability in this new era. This role will ensure Atlan’s knowledge surfaces — our blog, website, documentation, and beyond are designed not just to be found, but to be cited, summarized, and trusted by both people and machines. Your work will be foundational to how the world understands what we do, and how we reach the people we’re building for. Your Mission - LLM Visibility & AI-First Discoverability: - Drive Atlan’s visibility across retrieval-augmented platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. - Build and optimize structured content formats—glossary hubs, definitional clusters, entity-driven microsites—that improve our inclusion in LLM responses. - Track our presence across AI-generated answers and design experiments to improve recall, summarization quality, and citation frequency. - Relevance Engineering & Semantic SEO: - Develop and execute a scalable strategy for semantic SEO and discoverability, grounded in entity-based architecture, internal linking systems, and schema markup. - Own the evolution of Atlan’s topical authority model—ensuring structured coverage, canonical references, and deep metadata for every core topic. - Build durable frameworks that unify blog, website, documentation, and glossary content under a consistent semantic and architectural system. - Content Architecture & Data-Led Playbooks: - Define best practices for structuring content to be machine-readable and LLM-aligned—from passage-level structuring to metadata injection. - Lead cross-functional implementation of technical enhancements (schema, canonical tags, embedding strategies) that improve retrieval fidelity. - Develop playbooks for content, product marketing, and web teams to ensure discoverability is designed into every surface by default. - Measurement & Attribution in a Zero-Click World: - Redefine discoverability success metrics beyond traffic—AI impressions, semantic authority, retrieval accuracy, and zero-click exposure. - Partner with Growth Analytics to measure shifts in demand patterns, understand performance across surfaces, and tie efforts to influenced pipeline. - Build and maintain dashboards to monitor performance across SEO and generative retrieval channels. - Cross-Functional SEO Evangelism: - Lead education and alignment across web, content, brand, and product marketing teams on how modern retrieval and summarization work. - Collaborate closely with engineers to implement structured metadata and search enhancements. - Champion a company-wide shift from search optimization to knowledge architecture — ensuring every team builds for how information is retrieved today. What makes you a match for us? - 7+ years of experience in SEO, content architecture, or technical content operations in a B2B SaaS or digital-first environment. - Proven success driving discoverability through internal linking, structured metadata, schema design, and semantic clustering. - Familiarity with how LLMs retrieve and rank content, including semantic embeddings, passage-level structuring, or prompt-based discovery experiments - is a strong plus. - Technical fluency—comfortable working with developers to implement structured data, build tools, and operationalize metadata systems. - Track record of building systems and playbooks that scale across teams and surfaces. - Bonus: Experience in the modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Databricks) or with metadata-rich technical domains.
