Job Description:

Join our innovative team at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology as a Software Engineering Manager, where you will lead the development of our machine learning platform, empowering data engineering, data science, and machine learning research teams to build cutting-edge solutions. As a key member of our Ad Platform Machine Learning Platform Team, you will provide technical leadership, guide the development of machine learning and AI tools, and ensure seamless production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team planning, coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive project initiatives and technical dependencies
  • Design, build, and maintain our machine learning platform using TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, and other ML/AI tools
  • Develop and maintain Spark and Flink data pipelines to support machine learning and AI applications
  • Mentor team members, foster their growth as engineers, and guide technical solutions to align with business needs and timelines
  • Troubleshoot issues, ensure technical dependencies, and collaborate with research teams to drive innovation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience and 8+ years of software development experience with Python, Go, or Scala
  • 4+ years of big data development experience and demonstrable analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of machine learning engineering experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, and other ML/AI tools
  • Experience managing Spark and/or Flink on Databricks or Kubernetes/EKS, and with GenAI and LLM
  • Familiarity with AWS, Databricks environments, and Apache Airflow
  • Ad Tech industry experience and a strong understanding of machine learning and AI applications

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $184,300 - $247,100 per year (Los Angeles, CA), $193,100 - $258,900 (Seattle, WA), or $201,900 - $270,700 (San Francisco, CA)
  • Bonus and/or long-term incentive units as part of the compensation package
