Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager - Release Train Engineer to lead our Agile Release Train (ART) and drive the success of our IT projects. As a Release Train Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the budgetary, scheduling, and delivery of assigned initiatives, ensuring compliance with our PMO/Next Generation Delivery Organization standards and procedures. You will lead and coach a team of teams, remove impediments, and drive continuous improvement, utilizing your strong understanding of Agile and SAFe principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex enterprise-level programs or multiple projects concurrently, with a focus on delivering large-scale IT initiatives
  • Develop and communicate plans to deliver major IT initiatives to IT and business communities, including task and interdependency management, milestone tracking, and resource allocation
  • Serve as the primary interface for IT initiatives, outlining responsibilities and coordinating preparation of statements of work, specifications, and contracts
  • Negotiate IT interests, manage external vendor and contractor contracts, and monitor budget and resource levels
  • Ensure dependencies are understood and proactively managed, and risks and issues are identified and mitigated
  • Facilitate key ART-level events, including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, ART Sync, and Scrum of Scrums
  • Train, mentor, and coach Product Owners and Scrum Masters in preparing and developing features and work items for PI Planning and Sprint planning events
  • Communicate program progress, health, status, risks, and impediments to business and IT leaders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with 5+ years of experience in large project management and 5+ years working with Lean-Agile methodologies
  • 3+ years of experience as an RTE, Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification, and PMP certification
  • Strong understanding of Agile and SAFe principles, with experience in delivering large programs using SAFe
  • Experience working with data product owners, data engineering teams, and business stakeholders to implement data governance processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of big data technologies, utility meter and billing systems, and smart grid related initiatives
