Take your career to the next level as a Journeyman Electrician with the University of Montana's Housing Department! We're seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team, working on a variety of electrical projects and providing top-notch service to our campus community. As a Journeyman Electrician, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of electrical systems, from installation and maintenance to repair and troubleshooting. If you're a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic, we want to hear from you!

About the Role

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems
  • Work collaboratively with other crafts to complete projects and provide excellent customer service
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues using test equipment and hand tools
  • Develop a working knowledge of the UM Housing department's electrical system and obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification
  • Research and order materials, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements

  • Ability to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, motors, equipment, appliances, and fixtures
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Experience with conduit, ducts, tract, and raceways, as well as wire installation and circuit sizing
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of safety rules and procedures related to the trade, including OSHA regulations
