As a Remote IT Help Desk/Service Desk Technician I, you'll be the first point of contact for end-users, providing top-notch technical support for hardware and software issues, including Microsoft Office, VPN, Citrix, and MDM (mobile device management).

This role is open to applications from all provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate end-users on complex technical content, tailoring your approach to their level of experience
  • Multitask with ease, remaining calm under pressure while managing ongoing problems and deadlines
  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals
  • Document, maintain, upgrade, or replace hardware and software systems as needed
  • Train employees, identify and analyze product failures, and order replacement parts as required
  • Determine and recommend the best products or services to meet customers' needs
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues
  • Perform hands-on infrastructure and server tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Windows OS (Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10)
  • Microsoft Office 2007 to 2016 and Office 365 expertise
  • Apple MAC experience, including imaging, AD, OS X, iPhones, Mac Pros, laptops, and desktops
  • Ability to support Outlook client and troubleshoot VPNs
  • Experience supporting mobile users for network access, email support, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of SCCM for deploying images to clients' desktops and laptops
  • Active Directory expertise, including creating user accounts, groups, and managing GPOs
  • Desktop and laptop hardware knowledge, as well as printer hardware and inventory management
  • Familiarity with remote tools such as RDP, Team Viewer, Windows Assist, and LogMeIn Rescue
  • Previous experience in Help Desk, IT Support, Support Analyst, Service Desk, or similar customer service roles is an asset
