Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Surgical Technology Instructor to join our team at Concorde Career Colleges in Dallas, TX. As a part-time instructor, you will play a vital role in providing active and effective learning experiences for our students in various educational settings, including classrooms, labs, clinical, and online environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Duties:
    • Instruct classes as assigned, preparing lesson plans and course materials as required.
    • Objectively assess students' academic performance and provide regular feedback.
    • Effectively utilize instructional plans, learning management systems, and educational technology.
  • Student Interaction:
    • Maintain a conducive learning environment, setting a positive example for professionalism and conduct.
    • Provide constructive feedback, monitor attendance, and address academic, behavioral, or attendance concerns.
    • Facilitate tutoring, makeup work, and referrals to program directors or academic deans as needed.
  • Related Duties:
    • Participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including continuing education units (CEUs) and workshops.
    • Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies, student recognition, and campus activities.
    • Maintain accurate records, inventory, and equipment, reporting any issues to program directors or academic deans.

Requirements:

  • Credentialed in surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
  • Minimum of four years of clinical experience in surgical technology, with at least two years in the operating room scrub role within the last five years.
  • Associate degree in surgical technology.
