Job Summary:

Join our team at Atlantic Cape Community College as a Part-Time Library Aide at our Cape May campus! We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide exceptional support to our students and faculty. As a Library Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our library, assisting with circulation desk functions, and providing technical support to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform library circulation desk functions, including patron registration, inter-library loan, holds, and managing reserves and shelving.
  • Assist students and staff with locating print materials, utilizing electronic library resources and online research databases, navigating online courses, and using web-based course resources and applications.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to telephone calls, recording and entering data into spreadsheets or databases, and directing students to tutoring resources.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area, performing light housekeeping duties as required.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure seamless library operations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience working in a library, school, or other learning environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office and Google applications.
  • Ability to lift and move books and boxes, and spend time standing and walking.
