Position: Sr OCI Cloud Services Architect Location: Richmond VA USA | Hybrid Complete Description: Updated info from the mgr: Candidates should be in state and should be prepared to come into the office 4 days a week. Interviews will be IN PERSON unless events occur that may necessitate a virtual interview. Candidates should only be forwarded to the mgr that are prepared to come into the office 4 days per week. If they need to relocate, they should NOT be considered for the position. ABOUT THE ROLE
- Assist with the design, review, and implementation of Oracle OCI services and solution offerings.
- The position will work with customer agencies, managed cloud suppliers, as well as internal agency teams to ensure that architectures and environments provide efficient, effective, secure, and compliant solutions based on best practices and well architected frameworks.
- Documented experience with cloud architecture, operations and management in a public cloud environment - specifically Oracle's OCI.
- Experience performing reviews of proposed changes & projects relative to the security of an IT environment.
- At least 8 years of forward-thinking IT experience. 3 years of hands-on cloud technology experience (preferably with OCI). Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
- Experience with implementing, migrating or managing operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment. College degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Knowledgeable of cloud networking architectures utilizing virtual networks, VPN, Subnets, network security groups. load balancers, etc.
- Thorough understanding of customers priorities and the business criticality of platforms, applications and services. Cloud certifications preferred within the Oracle OCI cloud environment
Must Have:
- 8 yrs – Familiar with Cloud Native architecture paradigms, patterns, and security methodologies
- 4 yrs – Experience designing solutions within and working with the Oracle OCI environment
- 4 yrs – Oracle OCI specific certifications (Cloud Ops, Architecture, Security, etc.)
- 8 yrs – Experience working with cloud reference models, creating diagrams, and other design documentation
- 8 yrs – Experience implementing, migrating, or managing operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud environment
- 8 yrs – Knowledge of cloud networking architectures (virtual networks, VPN, Subnets, NSGs, load balancers, etc.)
- 8 yrs – Experience reviewing proposed changes & projects relative to IT security and controls
- 8 yrs – Excellent communication and presentation skills for addressing customer business needs
- 8 yrs – Ability to review technical solutions for technical and fiscal accuracy
- 8 yrs – Skilled in oral and written communication of technical information
- 8 yrs – Experience with security and regulatory frameworks (NIST, PCI, CJIS, FedRAMP, etc.)
- 8 yrs – Experience with cloud native technologies (containers, serverless workloads, functions, DBaaS, etc.)
- 8 yrs – Ability to work with minimal supervision and under deadlines
- 4 yrs – College degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 8 yrs – Experience with scripting and build tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform)
- 8 yrs – Experience with configuration management & monitoring tools (Fleet Application Mgmt, Puppet, OCI Monitoring, Splunk, etc.)
