About the Role: Remote Medical Transcriptionist (Entry Level) This full‑time, work‑from‑home position offers a unique blend of on‑the‑job training, supportive mentorship, and a clear pathway to professional advancement. As a Remote Medical Transcriptionist, you will transform spoken medical dictations into polished, error‑free written reports, ensuring that all documentation adheres to industry regulations and our strict quality standards. You will become an essential bridge between clinicians and electronic health records (EHR), playing a vital role in the continuity of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audio Transcription: Listen to recorded dictations from physicians, surgeons, and allied health professionals and accurately transcribe them into electronic documents using industry‑standard software.
  • Proofreading & Editing: Review transcriptions for grammar, punctuation, spelling, medical terminology, and overall clarity, making corrections as needed to ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Compliance Assurance: Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies to protect patient confidentiality and maintain regulatory compliance in every document.
  • Time Management: Prioritize and manage multiple transcription assignments, meeting daily and weekly turnaround targets while maintaining high quality.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Interact with senior transcription editors, quality‑assurance analysts, and IT support to resolve ambiguities, verify terminology, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training modules, webinars, and mentorship sessions to deepen your understanding of medical jargon, anatomy, and specialized specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, radiology).
  • Technology Utilization: Operate transcription platforms, foot pedals, speech‑recognition tools, and secure file‑transfer systems with proficiency.
  • Documentation Audits: Conduct random self‑audits and peer reviews to identify trends, reduce error rates, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Essential Qualifications (Must‑Have)
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; additional education in health sciences or related fields is a plus.
  • Exceptional listening skills with the ability to discern multiple speakers, background noise, and varying accents.
  • Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute with an accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
