[Remote] SAP Data Migration Functional Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EnQubes is seeking a SAP Data Migration Functional Analyst responsible for the end-to-end functional ownership of assigned SAP data migration objects throughout the implementation lifecycle. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into accurate data migration specifications and ensure successful execution of production cutover activities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the end-to-end functional owner for assigned data migration objects
- Partner with SAP Functional Leads and Business Process Teams across Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Forecast-to-Stock (FTS), Record-to-Report (RTR), Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Transportation Management, Quality Management, and other business process areas
- Participate in Fit-to-Standard workshops, business process design workshops, and solution design sessions to identify data migration requirements
- Analyze business processes and determine the master data, transactional data, and historical data requirements necessary to support future-state business operations
- Define migration scope, business ownership, data quality requirements, and acceptance criteria for assigned migration objects
- Conduct Data Mapping Workshops with business stakeholders and functional teams
- Develop and maintain Data Migration Functional Design Documents (FDDs)
- Develop and maintain detailed Data Mapping Specifications including Source-to-target mapping, Field transformation rule, Data derivation logic, Defaulting rules, Value conversion rules, Cross-reference (XREF) requirement, Data cleansing requirement, Determine and maintain object-level and field-level mapping requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Define business validation rules and reconciliation requirements
- Identify and support Data Construction SMEs for assigned business process areas
- Provide functional training on Data construction template, Data standard, Data quality requirement, Data governance expectation, Cross-reference data requirement
- Assist business teams with Data cleansing, Data enrichment, Legacy data remediation, Data construction activities, Cross-reference (XREF) development
- Monitor data readiness progress and escalate risks impacting migration timelines
- Collaborate closely with Data Migration Developers throughout migration build activities
- Review migration logic and transformation rules to ensure alignment with approved business requirements
- Clarify mapping requirements and business rules as questions arise during development
- Track migration build progress and proactively resolve functional issues that may impact delivery schedules
- Develop Functional Unit Test scenarios and expected results
- Execute Functional Unit Testing for assigned migration objects
- Coordinate migration testing activities with business SMEs and functional teams
- Validate migrated data against approved mapping specifications and business requirements
- Work with Data Migration Developers to troubleshoot Data load failure, ETL processing error, Transformation defect, Validation failure, Data quality issue
- Support defect logging, root cause analysis, retesting, and defect closure activities
- Coordinate business data validation activities
- Facilitate business review sessions and sign-off processes
- Support reconciliation activities between legacy and target systems
- Ensure migrated data satisfies business acceptance criteria and audit requirements
- Track validation completion status and communicate readiness to project leadership
- Support mock conversions, dress rehearsals, and production migration events
- Coordinate assigned migration activities during cutover execution
- Monitor migration status and communicate progress, issues, risks, and mitigation plans
- Communicate migration cutover task status to the Cutover Management Team
- Support hypercare activities and post-go-live data reconciliation efforts
Skills
- 5+ years of SAP Data Migration experience on large SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA implementation programs
- Experience supporting one or more SAP business process areas including PTP, OTC, FTS, RTR, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, or Finance
- Experience conducting Data Mapping Workshops and documenting migration requirements
- Experience writing Functional Design Documents and Data Mapping Specifications
- Experience supporting data construction, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities
- Strong understanding of SAP master data and transactional data structures
- Experience supporting multiple mock conversion cycles and production cutovers
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting one or more of the following SAP data domains: Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Forecast-to-Stock (FTS), Record-to-Report (RTR), Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Logistics Execution, Transportation Management, Quality Management, Master Data Governance (MDG)
