We are seeking passionate and experienced Self-Contained Special Education Teachers to join our team of educators in providing high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse needs. As a Self-Contained Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the intellectual, social, and emotional development of our students, and helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored educational programs based on state standards, district curriculum, IEP goals, and objectives
  • Implement effective teaching practices to facilitate communication, language, academic achievement, behavior management, and social skills for each student
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school community to provide specially-designed instruction, accommodations, and modifications
  • Develop and maintain accurate records, including IEPs, progress reports, and student data
  • Utilize diagnostic instruments to measure student progress and inform instruction
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and well-being

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Connecticut State certification with appropriate endorsement(s) (065, 165)
  • Successful experience as a special education teacher preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable Connecticut State and federal rules and regulations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administrators from diverse backgrounds
